I have to give these folks credit, they really do have a nice establishment. The guys at the door are always nice to me. I figure these guys have to deal with making sure no one bad gets in the door, and I would be a little nervous too. I did not go here for the longest time because I read that they pre package, but once I did go, I definitely changed my mind. There are many strains that I would never smoke again, but when I went to VR I found that a lot of the same strains were so much better here. I myself have been to many of the clubs all over the city, and for pricing, and quality, these guys get 2 thumbs up. My partner and I are certain we have found our new favorite club.

This place is a scam!!! They do this prepackaged stuff where they charge so much for a gram, but somehow it doesn't add up to what they charge for a eighth. So basically they are hella scamming by the difference alone. Another thing is the staff. I wouldn't say they are rude but they are very anti-social. The staff in the back by the buds are cool, but the door staff are lazy and look annoyed. One good thing that they have is good hash, really good, but the buds are weak and last about 10 mins. They are like I said, a scam. The one thing I would go for is the hash and the vaporizers. If you're looking for quality bud, you won't find it here!!!

The Vapor Room is a great place. The staff was friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to tell people not to feel rushed. Despite the fact that others were waiting, each one knew he or she would be accorded the same courtesy when being served. I also saw staff going out of their way to make older patients feel comfortable by guiding them through the process of purchasing at a medical marijuana dispensory. I live a good forty-five minutes away, but will be certain to, nevertheless, visit the Vapor Room whenever I can.

Ain't much to this club, all 8ths are 50 all the time and no shake if you were interested. Usually never have the trainwreck. You go there to get and the guy at the door has gotta ease up, acting like he owns the place or something. The weed and service aren't worth my time and money, and I'm sure you'll feel the same.

This place is great! They checked both my card and certificate and although the doorman/security wasn't overly friendly, I'm not there to make friends with him.

After I got in and was directed to the back counter, I immediately felt at ease and comfortable. The club is more like a cafe/lounge with a very relaxed atmosphere. The man at check-in was very pleasant and directed me to literature they have for members.

The staff in the back were very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. I can't wait until I get back to the Vapor Room again!

Great buds, hash and treats. Half the staff knows what's going on and the other half are retarded. I really don't like their new system...

$15 grams
no half 8ths
$55 for 4grams of the same bud.

I'm a big fan of getting a half 8th of sativa for the day time and a half 8th of indica to help me sleep at night. I plan on using a different club soon.

To answer your question, yes, you just need the paperwork & not the card. The first time you go, they will call the doctor you got the paperwork from to verify it, so go when that pace is open. Does anyone know if The Vapor Room will be open on New Year's day, or have a phone number for them?

Hey everyone,

I'm a longtime weed smoker but new to the "legal cannabis" game...

I just got my recommendation and am sort of confused about the logisitics of it all. I really want to visit the Vapor Room because I walk past it all the time and it looks pretty legit... But I have one question.. Will they let you in if you have only the paperwork? Or do you need the plastic cannabis patient ID to get in?

I am of a certain age with older teenagers. I fondly recall my college days and the pleasure of passing a joint round a bunch of friends. Fast forward, and I discover a chronic condition is believed to be soothed by a wee bit o' the green. This advice was put forth by my doctor, no less, who wrote me a script. She says she is beginning to do this more.

I went to a place near Moscone Center that had bullet-proof windows and guys who looked like they were there for business. The doorman would not accept my drs rx, even tho' I asked him to call her hospital (on a Sat) to verify. Headed to the lower Haight & found the Vapor Room.

Everyone was nice, helpful. I had read here that the staff could be prickly, rude, etc. I am old enough to get away with speaking my mind, so I will: You want nice staff? Be nice first. Say "hello" & ask how their day is going. A smile a a bit of charm lets folks know you see them as people. My teens were taught when small that the humbler the job of the person serving you, the more polite you must be, as you are not their betters. They are providing a service & are often paid less and disrespected. Nice begets Nice.
I feel blessed to belong to the Vapor Room. I always let them know this, and they are always kind, and often I get a free treat.

Before the Vapor Room moved to their new location and weighed the meds in front of patients, I was a huge supporter/fan of their services and compassion.

I have visited the new location for the fist time this week (right next door to the old one)and I have to say I don't know if I'll be going back. I don't like how the staff puts the rush feel on you like a car salesman. I also don't like how there was no shake available and how the counter person tried to make me feel small for asking about the shake.

Even though I know they stay stocked with top grades, I don't feel like the drive over the bridge is even worth it anymore when I can go to this one great East Bay dispensary that weighs my purchase right in front of me.

Sorry Vapor Room, but your guys went down after the new rules you go by.

What can I say. One of the top dispensary in SF. High grade cannabis. Lovely edibles. You can chill and get medicated in this place. They have a few volcanoes, 4 bongs and water for you to use via bong/bubbler or to drink. I highly recommend this place. Staff is very friendly and environment is nice. Overall this is a place you need to visit when you are in SF.

If you like a very POTENT sativa.... go the VAPOR ROOM and experience the infamous TRAINWRECK that we all love in the chill ass lounge area they have. I drive about an hour every sunday from oakley to go there, medicate, and watch the football game. I go there enough to know that they have some of the best Trainwreck and Thrash(trainwreck x hashplant). If I were to choose between the two, I wouldn't. I find that always selecting multiple strains in one visit rather then all one strain broadens my insight a tremendous amount. I used to be a pure indica lover because I was foolish and locked in this crazy world of PURPLE KUSH. It wasnt till I had smoked strains like NYC DIESEL and HEADBAND and CHEM DAWG that I realized that CANNABIS SATIVAs are my strains of choice.

My top 3 best cannabis club in SF. Been to all the clubs in SF. Vapo room is by far one of my fav. Just the fact that the place is so nice with tables and is basically a lounge where you can smoke and talk is OUTSTANDING. They have so many Volcanos, it's fantastic. Best of all, their medicine is pretty good. Although its $50 an 8th, if you pick the right one, its worth it. They have some great Champagn, Cheese, OG XXX(my fav), White Rhino, Staw Cough, and many more. Although it is kind of weird how if you buy more, you dont really get a discount. $15/g $25/ 1/16th, $50 1/8th, $100 1/4?. Other than that. This place is great. Workers are nice if you get to know them. Very friendly.

They also have water for you to drink, a plasma, tools to clean your pipe, books, and card games. And there limit is 1 hour 45 mins which is great.

Case in point! Go for the vaporizers, leave for the weed. This place consistantly disappoints me. Whoever buys there is a fool, hands down. Let me just give you the facts. They pre weigh their green every time. I have weighed out, it was wrong. Also the staff are ghetto and rude always. Always trying to rush you out the door, as if they have something to do..lol. Points for the cool amsterdam like look they got going though. I will say their hash is the best I've had outta 10 clubs I've been to. If you like chillin' smoking the vaporizers go, but if you wanna buy you might think otherwise or you will be pissed that you wasted your time on s--t weed.

One of the best looking dispensaries in SF. Not such a wide selection, but I did try the super kush and champaign. Both were outta this world. Looked, smelled and smoked great. Had concentrates and actually a large selection of edibles. Doorman was chill and polite, he told me it was members only but he let me in to check it out and get a feel for it. I hope applying for the club isn't impossible. Although I come from far away, I would not mind visiting this place twice a month at the least. Hope this place lives on for years to come.

Since the club has begun prepackaging its marijuana, they have engaged in poor practices. Namely mixing low grade with high grade. Also, misleading advertising in that the samples they show in the small containers are not the same batch as being sold. They use the same display items over and over. When asked if it isthe same batch, they reply affirmative. The club is beginning to be a rip-off.

The front door guys are nice, but the sales help is rude and incompassionate. And they only offer 8 kinds of meds. When you ask for Sour Deisel they always want to talk you into Trainwreck, which I don't care for. And no shake ever. They belittle you for even asking for it. Forget you guys! I've been to most of the clubs in the Bay and this one might be number 1! One trend you see in the clubs is that if they get their hands on a superb strain, they usually charge alot for it. This club never charges as much, there is respect to the patients in that regard. A few years ago they were a little more run down, but they have totally redone the interior of the club, and now it looks like a high-end Amsterdam Cafe (and could probably beat most of them in competition).

They have a big lounge with shelves filled with Horticulture books; you can smoke in the lounge and they have utensils there for you including Volcanos. I read a review that says there hash is overpriced, but that is simply not true. You can get grams at a wide variety of prices.

I went in there recently and got Pineapple Kush, Blue Cheese, and their best hash, which was pure Sour Diesel (which shined like it was sprayed with cooking oil. It bubbled up like hash oil and was the best hash I have ever enjoyed). They have lollipops and other edibles. Their pre-rolled joints are nothing but trim (don't buy them you will regret it).

The one lost star is because everyone is right. They're very rude, rush you, and do give alot of sarcastic awnsers. They make you feel like they're doing you some sort of a favor, and you're pushing them too far. My advice: be an adult and take it like a man/woman and get the high quality meds you deserve.

I would like to let you all know that last weekend was the first time I was ever at a club. I visited San Francisco and actually went to 6 different clubs looking for what I needed. I came across the Vapor room by chance. I loved the atmosphere. The first couple of clubs that i went to that day actually made me feel very uncomfortable.

At The Vapor Room they were very friendly, in a home like atmosphere. Its definately a business just like any other, but with a personal touch. I found it very clean, and would feel very comfortable in kicking back there, and will definately be back again.

Compared to all the other weird sketchy clubs in the city Vapor Room has a great homie vibe. Treat everyone with respect and you get respect back.

Everyone is always helpful and everytime I ask for their suggestions they give me their honest feed back. They really hold it down it terms of having good variety. Not sure why everyone else has all these complaints, probably because they want to be catered to hand and foot and expect some VIP treatment...these spots are providing a service and if you don't like it don't become a member.

To those who are really looking at these review for honest guidance!!! These guys below are a bunch of haters with nothing substantial to say. They seem to just want to rant and rave about something and hating is easier than giving constructive criticism.

The pro of sites like this is that it gives a forum for thinking people to share opinions. The con is they give every Tom, Dick and Harry a forum to vent their venoms, useless personal opinions. And we all know what is said about frivolous opinions, "Opinions are like a--holes, everyone has one."

So here is my thought I have been to most of the clubs in San Francisco and they all have pros and cons as does everything and everyone in this world! But this club have very obviously at least made an attempt to be/do something above the norm!!!

Kudos to them.

This club does not feel dirty and thug like, as do some of the others.
This club allows individuals to medicate on premises.
This club is not over priced.
And this club offers a service that is still difficult to access….(something the haters should remember)!!!!!

And with that said I take my hat of to all the clubs some of which I like more than others. They are all serving our community. Another fact the haters should remember.

I am sure that the individual who protest the loudest at the very ones who would do a terrible job, opening and running a similar club.

Vapor Room is the consummate king of all clubs in the SF area, with one exception...and why it does not get 5 stars...but more on that later.

The absolute best layout and lounge-atmosphere -- truly remarkable to allow patients to medicate without fear or hassle in a friendly, controlled environment. Terrific display of inventory with knowledgeable staff, Vapor Room is the yardstick for medical cannabis treatment facilities.

VP Room registers everyone with a picture and an ID check, which gets them a big "minus one" on the star list. Since the VR staffs the door and checks ID anyway, there is no need for them to do this at all.

The fact is that you don't get what you pay, you waste your money on bad meds.This place sucks, it really sucks, The meds that lasts 10 mins...or maybe it was the strand Sensi Star. Went another time to see if it was just that day or something and this place still sucks. Do yourself and your money a favor and go to elsewhere.

Pros:

- Location
- Lounge w/ Volcanos
- Some great strains on occassion: Cheese, Caboose, Dark Star, J-1
- $20 off when you buy a 1/2

Cons:
- 1/4 max on each strain. If you want a half or a full Z of medicine you like the best don't see why they'd deny the patient.
- Pre-packed doses
- Diva-ish staff. Yup - them homies are DIVAS. Would it hurt to smile? You have a great job budtending at an SF collective. Be happy Mon.
- Hash is too expensive. - Limited selection - normally like 6 - 8 strains to choose from. Would love them to step it up like the others around town -- stock 20 - 30 strains at a time. Sometimes they've got nothing exciting to offer.

In summary, a decent club - better than 90% of the rest, but still leaves a lot to be desired.

Yo! Why all you people gotta complain bout the vapor room! You get what you pay for! Great club in my book. The staff can seem unfriendly if you dont say a word to them! Staff is there to help, not to hold your hand. Ive read alot of peoples reviews for the vapor room.....if you dont have the paperwork, the right paperwork, then you shouldnt be let in!, if your docs "the script mill type" get another doc! Oh and the trash strain at the Vapor Room is great!

I recently visited The Vapor Room in San Francisco and was treated horribly. They proceeded to say that my 215 state identification card as well as my script were garbage and didn't mean a thing. I was told I had to be a member so I had my doctor's info and they told me to get out of there. I've never felt so discriminated against in my life and there will be legal actions taken. These people do not deserve your business or support.

Buds were not as good as I expected. I mean, they looked really good but didn't last long. I asked the counter guy whats the best strand and whats the best u like and he said deep purple. I have to say the buds look incredible, but I have had way better pot in SF that isnt even medical. Dont go to this place. Also, they'll kick u out if u dont have a doctors note. A card doesnt apply here, this is why u should stay away from this place! The Vapor Lounge is cool though I dont like smoking with people. I dont know but if thats your thing go for it. I first found this place after looking for it online. I hear it used to be a bit rundown with spray paint everywhere. It looks way better now. Come here if u like an Amsterdam atmosphere, I only say that cause it has that coffee shop lounge act to it like its Amsterdam.

You know, I want to give this place a good review. I really do. It's a very convenient location. They typically have some good strains of meds. I love that they carry Blue Dream... the best strain around, imo. That all said, I hate the attitude I get there. The employees behave as if they worked at a Blockbuster video. I ask about a strain and I get a smartass answer.

Just the other day:
ME: "Can you tell me some details about Cheese?" -- they had a strain called Cheese
DUDE: "It goes well with wine and crackers."

A few weeks ago:
ME: "What can you tell me about Dark Star?"
DUDE: "Depends on what you want to know."

and that was it. over it. thanks for being so helpful, you know...

I think these guys make the practice of selling medical cannabis seem wrong. These are the people that make it just seem like "yo dude i'm gonna go pick up some herb". Credibility flying out the window. Anyway, that's that. I'll probably keep going back there, but I'm more and more over it every time.

What is Dark Star anyway? I'm assuming some kind of Kush x Sensi Star or something (or is that wishful thinking hehe)

This is the worst club, I have come across. Never open on time, closed without notification. Then they have this very unbusiness like book keeping of patients. I've been going there for 6 months, its always, a hassle at the door, with the stupid stickers. I have one, but they want me to produce the original form, from doctor, again. Its a good place, if you don't have a place to smoke! In closing, they really need to get rid of the attitude, that all these clubs have!

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, plenty of vaporizers bongs and pipes available. They have about triple the edible selection as they do bud selection. They always have a favorite strain of mine called DarkStar, wich is some of the best medicine I've ever smoked. They only carry the good stuff.

Minus one star because they only have like 6 strains and all of them are $50 an 8th, however they don't have set weights to sell, so you can give them whatever is in your wallet and they will wiegh it out accordingly. Like if you only have five bucks they will give you .3g.

The Vapor Room is one of my favorite places in San Francisco. It is extremely well maintained and is always a chill, relaxing, non-threatening location to enjoy your bud.

They have three volcano's as well as plenty of bongs and pipes for utilities. You can walk with your own strains and just go ahead, no fee's.

They also have a shop towards the back. I love the way they display their medicine, very nice and professional. Also a wide variety of edibles (mendo pops, brownies, thc pills, chocolates, cookies, etc).

The prices are very fair, and they will only sell max $100 per strain, you can't get more apparently as my buddy just tried today.

The quality of the marijuana is extremely satisfying. It is very well taken care of chronic.

Overall, best club to visit in San Francisco. A must stop when traveling to the area.

This is my 2nd review, here's why: It takes me 15 min (by bus) to get there. They always give you a healthy amount (even when buying a 1/2 eighth). Frosty and the Kush they have are very nice strains, I usually narrow it down to two strains and let the staff pick one of the two for me. Although I do go to two other clubs in SF, the Vapor Room is a favorite.

I was there recently and they had like 6 strains (that's not cool man) most places have over 20 so I donno what's up with these guys?

Decent edibles/concentrates. nothing special. I thought I would get one of those for free too, cause it was my first time. But nope nothing.

All I got was this big attitude from a girl who worked there. She asked if I wanted a bag, I said yeah sure, then she didn't give me one and told me not to wave it around the air or something stupid, I wanted to tell her I've probably medicated more than shes ever seen.

Then I'm like cool, they have a smoking lounge. It really is nice, with volcanos everywhere. But I talk to this doorman, who's just checking out his myspace. And I'm like yo, can I grab one of these volcano bags, dog. He looks over like he thinks he's Lil Wayne doesnt say anything to me. So I'm like, uh well can I pack this bong at least? Which I guess isn't allowed so he says "no" thats all he said to me after asking two questions, one was supposed to be "yes." Then I grab the bags anyway and he barks back "leave your id or req" or something. I really wanted to backhand him, but he was huge.

The Vapor Room is hands down my favorite club in SF. I've been to many of them over the years and the people and product at the VR have never let me down. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that often hooks it up with heavy sacks and bonus edible goodies and pre-rolls. Killer selection of budz, hash and yummy edibles.

My only complaint is that they don't always have the same strains, but the ones they do carry always get the job done. I'm very fond of the Blue Dream, but have only found it there a few times.

Was not happy with this club. The second I walked in half the people made me feel like I wasnt welcome there. It seemed like half of them put up with you because they have to. This club usually only has about five kinds of dro a day but has a decent amount of hash and edibles. I had an experience of going there once and the five strains they had were great, so I try and go back 2 days later and they dont have a single one that they had before. Out of the five strains I could get looked like boo boo compared to what they had before. So I drove down to the Haight and had to find parking for medicine that I was not happy with even though (I'm sure) they had better medicine in the back because they had 5 big tubes full of the other stuff 2 days before. This really disapointed me and I'm sure you would be too.

I loved the mood of the Vapor Room. It was laid back, as most clubs are, but smacked of the 60's. That was my era. I felt safe, comfortable and welcomed. Thank you for a 'groovy' experience. Even the difficult parking situation can't keep me away.

Parking is a pain, but once you get in the atmosphere is real mellow. Buds were medium grade quality. they can give you bud in any denomination. You can buy a $5 sack haha. The volcanoes are only so so. I think they are getting a lil old. My first sf club. They met expectations.

I give Vapor Room 5 stars, because their bud is quality and no paying $60 dollars plus tax for a good strain. Every eighth is $50 dollars, and these guys have some of the best medicine in town, aside from places like CMC. Give this place a try, I did, and I've been going back ever since. Plus, they've got huge bricks of hash!

Easy to find, but difficult to park in this busy neighborhood. Once inside, staff is very friendly and warm. They invite you to come and medicate even if your not purchasing anything. Very community oriented and they view the dispensary as a place to serve the community and it's needs. Average buds. Average prices. Exceptional extras like edibles, pre-rolled joints, tea bags ect. Should be on your list of San Francisco cannabis clubs, to visit.

The Vapor Room has the best edibles in town. It did take a minute to sign up as you must be a member of this club. They have edibles that most other clubs don't.

Parking is a problem though with the snooty neighborhood they are in. I would recommend this club to anyone.

The Vapor Room is wonderful, especially for the beginner. I have so much pain and they have helped me to find the strain that works for me along with a extra sample for free, which I end up purchasing at a later date, I'm so happy. I still can't roll joints very well but at least I HAVE RELIEF! ! ! !

If you are smoking, or using some other by-product of marijuana, for medical reasons - this is indeed an Ideal place to shop.

Their prices are consistent with the current cost of Marijuana (Market Values set by Consumers) - Nothing Special here....

What's really special about this place however, is their Non-Pretentious and knowledgeable Stall...

Their customers are provided with a choice of about 10 different selections, and they also offer an additional variety of other marijuana products.

So, if you are in need of medication for pain relief, and are not knowledgeable about the medication, then you should take comfort to know that this place is as professional as any pharmacy!

This place is so laid back you'll and inviting- you'll feel like sitting around for a while and trying out the volcano or one of the other fine medical devices available for your use. Friendly knowledgeable staff with a nice variety of hash, baked goods and definitely fine cannabis.

Always seem to have friendly patients hanging out to talk with.

The Vapor Room is the friendliest club I've been to. You can sit, smoke, chat, read, and kick back. The products are tops, including lots of baked goods. The decor is a bit like a 50's or 60's scene, and you will feel at home. When I was there, a free baked good was passed out to everyone. These are good people doing a great job.

I have recently become a member at the elite "Vapor Room" on Haight St. Now I've done C.C's for a long time, but never have I been accepted with such open arms as when I entered the Vapor Room.

Quality Herb. Good Selection. Good Prices. Nice Folks. Became a member and have had only good experiences here. I find the shade of Orange it's painted very soothing.

I came across the Vapor Room while I was on chemotherapy. The Vapor Room is responsible for my survival. It was the truly caring staff, and that excellent medicine. There are two or three good clubs in the city. But none compare to the Vapor Room.

This club provides medicine to the cities patients that are unable to afford it.

These patients are hospitalized and unable to leave the facility. The Vapor Room delivers and distributes without charge.

So if you think your club has love or it nice with so much care giving and compassionate sanctuary, then take a look at the Vapor Room, its real.

OK, I used to think this place was the bomb...up to about a year ago.. lately the selection has been mediocre.... I am not that impressed with the counter staff, they can be moody and short... sometimes they are really nice... other times. well. grumpy

The lollipops are the best you can get...hash oil infused and strong....half of one sets you up for 4 hours or more.......the scene is also nice.... prices are average....they do tend to de-stem a bit and give you a heavy bag....again...it depends on the mood of the counter person

I don't really want to go back there after my last experience where i was invited to join the coop, got a new sticker on my card.......was told a free joint was waiting for me for doing this...went to the counter...no free joints... I asked them to apply the joint "credit" towards an edible i wanted....he would only present me with an edible i did not
want and then gave me a load of attitude about it.....and then had the audacity to ask me if I was giving him attitude.... I explained i was dissapinted.....he could not process that and i left

When i walked out, i explained what had happened to the door person and they seemed to know what i was talking about regarding attitude problems....so who knows.. I do not need to rock the boat. but that was pretty un cool.

Sweet, great strains, friendly staff (they don't mind if you get a little of each kind) and pretty good prices. All the real good stuff is about $50! I LOVE this place!!!

I thought that everyone besides the door staff (he was friendly as hell) was 'looking down on me', and I don't know why. When I asked for differences between certain types of buds, they were less than helpful. The guy kept looking away from me like he wanted to be elsewhere my first time. The next few times, (another) guy was just very short.

The upside: they've got a decent selection of quality buds- at least 30 or so to choose from on a good day, to 8 on a bad day. Tons of edibles, hash, kief- good quality, too. They sell not just edibles, but teas! =) A rarity from what I've seen.

The chill room is a dark 'hole like' place. I've never seen anyone but one older man use it.... which is a bummer because when I got to a club, I like to talk. Hey- it's in close proximity to 3 other clubs- go check them out, and see if I'm right.

The Vapor Room consistently has the best selection of high grade cannabis. I've been to nearly every club in the bay, and vapor room is the only one I never leave disappointed. Its a very chill atmosphere. If your looking for high grade that tastes and smells as good as it smokes, check out the vapor room.

The Vapor Room is a 1st class operation however they won't accept anything but the state card i.e. they won't let you in with your prescription and photo ID. That said, they're great people and earnest in their desire to take care of the patients.
