This location is Ground Zero for all pot clubs. Dennis Peron and Brownie Mary ran the Cannabis Buyers Club, which changed management to become CHAMP, which became CCC #2 after CHAMP closed down in 2002.

This place has a friendly knowledgeable staff that are patients themselves. The CCC is dog and cat friendly. The Compassionate Care Center offers Free internet and wireless, lunch everyday, massage on wednesday, and during giants games. They give away joints for grandslam homeruns hit by giants. They give away free home games to the Raiders. Every month from spring to fall, this medical marijuana dispensary offers free day trips to the patients, to go to places like the zoo and the beach and muir woods.

But I think there best non cannabis related event is their constant donations to a camp for HIV/AIDS children called Camp Sunburst.

The building is nice. The staff behind the counter is a real prick. He interrupted me when I was trying to be patient without first interrupting him. He is a pompous ass for no apparent reason (reminds me of the cartoon character "Assey McGee" from Adult Swim on Cartoon Network).

Besides him I just mentioned, the other staff members are cool, saying "thanks for coming, welcome back, have a safe week/end" and so on and such.

Parking can be difficult in this area of SF. Selection down to 5 on this Saturday afternoon. Good "high grade style" quality medical marijuana.

The space itself is kinda cool and it's convenient to my place, but that's about all I can say that's positive about CCC#2.

Selection: weak (6 choices)

Quality: so-so. Of four strains I tried, one turned out to be too green and the other three were weaker than their counterparts sold at other clubs.

Price: not competitive. Average and sometimes higher. Staff: good for ringing you up but that's all. They talk to each other more than with customers.

Conclusion: I'll only visit this place again if I have to. When visiting I'll inspect the weed more closely and avoid buying from a batch picked too early. Mostly I hope that whomever owns that club reads this review and works hard to turn the club around. More selection, higher quality, and friendly knowledgeable staff would be a welcome change.

I had a hard time deciding if I should give them a 2 or a 3. It kind of depends on which direction you are coming from. But since I have to come the bad way it gets a 2. This club it big inside, but its definitely not so it can hold its vast assortment of different selections. It seems to vary between 5-7 different strains at average prices. The staff aren't real friendly or helpful.

I like it when a club knows their product and can recommend something, but that's not them. The response I usually get is "it's all good." Another thing i don't care for about this place is there seems to always be lots of people of questionable character lurking around, several times I have seen homeless people smoking just half a block up from there, sitting right there on the sidewalk. This place could definitely use a better security presence.

All that being said, their products are always high quality. Their location is very convenient, just half a block from the Church muni station, And as long as you are coming from and going toward that direction you can avoid most of the shady
people standing around.
