Former Candidate For Lt. Governor Joins Campaign For Legalization

FORMER CANDIDATE FOR 2006 LT. GOVERNOR JOINS CAMPAIGN TO LEGALIZE CANNABIS FOR ALL ADULTS IN CALIFORNIA

Shaw states medical marijuana patients not well protected by present laws.

Lynnette Shaw was drafted by the Libertarian Party to run for Lt Governor in 2006. She garnered nearly 150,000 votes and an endorsement by Willie Nelson for her platform about Marijuana Peace. Shaw claims it was strictly about medical use at the time.

“The patients are still in danger. There have been excesses by law enforcement all over the State, plus problems with unregulated medical marijuana outlets. I had hoped that Marijuana Peace would mean that all the patients would be left alone to use their medical cannabis without being busted and run into the courts anymore, statewide.

This has happened only in a few places around California. After 13 years of fear and agony, I give up on my dream of safe and affordable access for all patients in California, under our current laws.

The only way that the patients will be left alone is when any adult over 21 can use and possess an ounce of cannabis if they choose.”

Shaw has joined proponents Richard Lee and Jeff Jones in the effort to gather signatures to qualify the Tax and Regulate Cannabis 2010 Initiative.

“ I call on all my friends, supporters, and activists to join me in gathering registered voter signatures to qualify the well-thought-out ballot initiative sponsored by Oaksterdam University.” Shaw stated.

Volunteers may call 415.456.4313 for more information about Shaw’s Marin County effort. www.taxcannabis2010.org contains the entire text of the initiative plus further information.
